Lecture Demonstrations, or LEC-DEMs as they are called are an important part of SPICMACAY's programmes on Indian classical music and dance. The LEC-DEM sessions are held throughout the year.
These LEC-DEMS are aimed to create an audience that can appreciate our heritage. The programmes facilitate a closer interaction between the students and the artistes.
Here the artiste demonstrates the art form with the help of explanations and thus makes the art form easily comprehensible. As a result of the rapport so created, the student is able to develop a wholesome understanding of the art form. Hence the format of LEC-DEMs is kept more informal than that of concerts. The LEC-DEMs are held regularly at schools and colleges.
